2023: Recap 10+ years

Reflecting on the past decade of my singing career fills me with immense pride. It all began in the typical fashion, starting a band in a basement in 2010. Unfortunately, that initial basement band didn't progress beyond those walls. However, from that experience, I did meet talented individuals like Anthony Cisco and Bill Blonski, and together we put on some fantastic acoustic shows, including opening for Arron Tippin.

With the guidance of my father and Al Snyder, I released my first self-titled CD, "Dawn Savage," in 2012. The year 2013 marked a turning point as I embarked on the search for a band that could help bring my songs to life. The Dawn Savage Band was finally formed!! The founding members, Jim Pyer, Craig Davison, Josh McCormick, and Keith Branagan, delivered an electrifying first performance on Jergels Rhythm Grille Stage.

As time passed, our lineup evolved, and we welcomed an exceptional new lead guitarist, Andy Hughes, as well as a talented bass player Scott Herbst. Together, we made an incredible team, performing at many fairs, festivals, wineries, and breweries. We shared the stage with notable artists like LOCASH, Joe Nichols, Phil Vassar, Eric Paslay, Alexandra Kay, and Michael Christipher!

However, the pandemic brought an abrupt halt to our musical endeavors, altering our lives in unimaginable ways. Amidst the challenges, I experienced the joy of becoming a mother to a wonderful baby boy, fulfilling a life long dream! Despite the hardships of the pandemic, my son’s presence has been a true blessing.

Tragically, we lost our original bass player, Jim Pyer, this past March. His absence has been deeply felt, and I envision him in heaven doing all of the things he loved! I pray he is up in Heaven riding his motorcycle on some clouds of gold, fishing, and rocking out with all of God’s angels. We will forever miss him dearly and will never forget his immense contributions to the band. ——

We've since regrouped, and with our new bassist, Dave O'Dell joining us, I'm eager to resume creating music together.

I absolutely cannot wait to see what the future holds for the rest of 2023! Stay tuned for more updates, shows, and music to come! There’s only up from here… and it’s surly in His hands!

God bless!

Musically yours,

Dawn
